Snowboarding attracts millions of people every year. Snowboarding can be done year round throughout the world but most locations do not offer the correct conditions all year. Snowboarding is an alternative to skiing and is also similar “in practice” to skateboarding and surfing. With a snowboard, the rider’s feet are strapped to the board with bindings. Special boots are used to safely attach the rider to the bindings and the board. Lifts are used to get individuals to the top of the mountain or hill. Climbing up the mountain each time is possible but very tiring. Lifts provide skiers and snowboarders hours of additional enjoyment in the time and energy they save.

Styles:
Riding styles include free riding, freestyle, free carve, and jibbing. Stunts and tricks are performed to enhance the sport.
